Upper and Lower Eyelid
Upper and lower eyelid surgery is a surgical procedure designed to correct excess skin, loosened muscle tissue, and fat deposits around the eyes, resulting in a younger, more dynamic, and refreshed appearance. This operation can address aesthetic concerns and also provide functional improvement in cases where drooping eyelids interfere with the field of vision.
Who is it suitable for?
- Those with noticeable sagging or excess skin on the eyelids
- Individuals complaining of under-eye bags and puffiness
- Those who want to improve a tired or aged facial expression
- Patients whose field of vision is narrowed due to upper eyelid drooping
- Individuals in good overall health with no serious conditions that may impair healing
- Non-smokers or those willing to stop smoking before surgery
- Individuals with realistic expectations

Most Frequently Asked Questions
How is the surgery performed?
Fine incisions are made along the natural crease of the upper eyelid, and just below the lash line or from the inner side (transconjunctival) of the lower eyelid. Excess skin is removed, loosened muscles are tightened, and fat tissue is reshaped. This creates a more refreshed, youthful, and natural-looking eyelid contour.
How long does the surgery take?
When both the upper and lower eyelids are operated on together, the procedure typically takes about 1.5–2 hours. For a single eyelid (upper or lower), the duration may vary between 30–45 minutes.
Is the surgery painful?
It is generally not a painful procedure. A mild stinging or tightening sensation may occur after the surgery, but it is easily managed with the prescribed simple pain medications.
How long do the results last?
The results of blepharoplasty generally last 5–10 years. Since the natural aging process continues, the outcome is not completely permanent; however, the procedure keeps the eye area looking younger and more refreshed for many years.
Will I have visible scars?
Since the incisions are hidden within the natural eyelid crease and the lash line, the scars become almost unnoticeable once healing is complete. Depending on skin type, faint pink lines may be visible during the first few months.
What are the risks?
Swelling and bruising
Temporary blurred vision
Asymmetry
Infection
Bleeding or hematoma
Very rarely, temporary changes in eyelid position
Delayed healing or visible scarring
When performed by an experienced surgeon, these risks are significantly minimized.

Is it safe to travel by plane after the procedure?

In the early post-operative period, all follow-ups are performed directly by our surgeon, and patients are allowed to return to their home country once they no longer require dressings.
