How is the surgery performed?
The procedure is performed under sedation or general anesthesia. Fine cannulas are inserted through small 3–4 mm entry points in the chest area. The fatty tissue is removed in a controlled manner using suction, and the chest contour is reshaped. When necessary, energy-based skin-tightening devices may also be used.
How long does the surgery take?
A single-area liposuction procedure typically takes about 45–60 minutes.
If the gynecomastia structure is more complex, the duration may extend up to 1.5 hours.
Is the surgery painful?
In the first 24–48 hours, regional tenderness and a soreness similar to muscle pain may be felt. However, the pain level is usually mild to moderate and can be easily managed with the prescribed pain medications.
How long do the results last?
The fat cells removed through liposuction do not regenerate, therefore the results are permanent. However, significant weight gain, hormonal changes, or certain medications may cause an increase in volume in the chest area again.
Will I have visible scars?
Since the procedure is performed through very small 3–4 mm incisions, the scars are minimal and fade over time.
With proper care, the scars become almost unnoticeable in most patients.

During this period, the follow-up appointment is completed, dressings are changed, and suitability for air travel is assessed.

Air travel is generally possible 3–5 days after the procedure.
To ensure proper management of early swelling and fluid accumulation, it is recommended to schedule the flight after the first follow-up examination.
What will my post-operative care be like when I return home?
In the early post-operative period, all follow-ups are performed directly by our surgeon, and patients are allowed to return to their home country once they no longer require dressings. In the following weeks, additional check-ups are conducted via video calls. Before leaving Istanbul, patients receive detailed instructions, and all necessary care videos are shared with them.
