Chin Implant
A chin implant is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to balance the facial profile and enhance a weak or recessed chin structure. By placing a biocompatible implant at the tip of the chin, the contours of the lower face are strengthened, creating a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Who is it suitable for?
A recessed or under-projected chin
Imbalance or disproportion in the facial profile
Individuals seeking a more defined chin contour
Poor definition at the jaw–neck junction due to chin structure
Congenital or trauma-related deformities of the chin tip
Individuals in overall good health who are suitable candidates for surgery

Most Frequently Asked Questions
How is the surgery performed?
Chin implant surgery is typically performed through a small incision made inside the mouth.
Through this incision, access is provided to the chin bone.
The implant is then positioned and secured according to the patient’s anatomical structure.
The incision is closed with sutures, and since it is placed inside the mouth, no visible external scar remains.
In some cases, the procedure may be performed through a very small incision under the chin; the choice of technique depends on the patient’s needs.
How long does the surgery take?
The procedure takes approximately 45–60 minutes. If an additional treatment is performed (such as liposuction or a combined jawline procedure), the duration may be longer.
Is the surgery painful?
Mild tenderness and a feeling of tightness may occur after the procedure, but significant pain is not expected. The recovery process is generally comfortable with the prescribed pain medications.
How long do the results last?
The results of chin implants are long-lasting. High-quality medical-grade implants maintain their shape for many years and generally do not require replacement.
Will I have visible scars?
Incisions made inside the mouth are not visible externally, so scarring is not an issue.
If a small incision under the chin is required, the resulting scar is typically very minimal and fades significantly over time.
What are the risks?
Infection
Swelling and bruising
Temporary numbness
Implant displacement (very rare)
Delayed tissue healing
These risks are significantly minimized when the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon.

How long should I stay in Istanbul for recovery?
It is recommended that you stay in Istanbul for 4–7 days to allow for the first follow-up and to monitor early healing.
If the incision is made inside the mouth, the recovery process is typically faster.
Is it safe to travel by plane after the procedure?
It is generally safe to fly 3–5 days after the procedure.
To prevent increased swelling or pressure discomfort, it is recommended to be cautious about pressure changes during the early recovery period. Your surgeon’s guidance based on your individual condition should be prioritized.
What will my post-operative care be like when I return home?
In the early post-operative period, all follow-ups are performed directly by our surgeon, and patients are allowed to return to their home country once they no longer require dressings. In the following weeks, additional check-ups are conducted via video calls. Before leaving Istanbul, patients receive detailed instructions, and all necessary care videos are shared with them.
Will language be a barrier?
No. Our clinic provides English-speaking coordinators and interpreter services for international patients, ensuring smooth communication at every stage.
